Ingredients:
- 1 lb frozen french fries
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 0.5 tsp fine sea salt
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
Instructions:
- Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for at least 3 minutes to ensure a hot basket for immediate searing.
- Place frozen fries in a large mixing bowl and toss with 1 tablespoon of neutral oil and 0.5 tsp garlic powder until every fry has a thin, even coating.
- Transfer the fries to the preheated air fryer basket, ensuring they form a mostly single layer (a little overlap is fine).
- Cook for 18 minutes. At the 9 minute mark, remove the basket and give it a vigorous shake until the fries have swapped positions.
- At 15 minutes, check for color. Cook for the remaining 3 minutes until the edges are dark golden and the sound is clinky.
- Let them sit in the basket for 60 seconds after the timer goes off. This allows the outer crust to fully set.
