Ingredients:

  • 1 lb frozen french fries
  • 1 tbsp neutral oil
  • 0.5 tsp fine sea salt
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for at least 3 minutes to ensure a hot basket for immediate searing.
  2. Place frozen fries in a large mixing bowl and toss with 1 tablespoon of neutral oil and 0.5 tsp garlic powder until every fry has a thin, even coating.
  3. Transfer the fries to the preheated air fryer basket, ensuring they form a mostly single layer (a little overlap is fine).
  4. Cook for 18 minutes. At the 9 minute mark, remove the basket and give it a vigorous shake until the fries have swapped positions.
  5. At 15 minutes, check for color. Cook for the remaining 3 minutes until the edges are dark golden and the sound is clinky.
  6. Let them sit in the basket for 60 seconds after the timer goes off. This allows the outer crust to fully set.
