Ingredients:

  • Apples of your choice (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, Gala, etc.)
  • Method 1: Lemon Juice: 1 medium lemon, 2 cups water
  • Method 2: Honey: 1 tablespoon honey, 1 cup water
  • Method 3: Salt Water: 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 cup water
  • Method 4: Citric Acid: 1/4 teaspoon citric acid powder, 1 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Wash, core, and slice the apples to your desired thickness.
  2. Choose your browning prevention method: Lemon Juice, Honey, Salt Water, or Citric Acid.
  3. Prepare the solution: For Lemon Juice, juice the lemon and mix with water. For Honey, whisk honey with water. For Salt, dissolve salt in water. For Citric Acid, dissolve citric acid in water.
  4. Submerge the apple slices completely in the chosen solution.
  5. Let the apple slices soak for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Remove the apple slices from the solution and gently pat them dry.
  7. Store in an airtight container or resealable plastic bag and refrigerate.
