Ingredients:

  • 6 medium apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp), peeled, cored, and sliced (about 6 cups or 900g)
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup (100g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup (100g) packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream (approximately 2-3 cups or 500-750ml)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine sliced apples, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until apples are evenly coated, then spread the mixture in the baking dish.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, melted butter, salt, and cinnamon. Stir until combined and crumbly.
  3. Evenly distribute the crisp topping over the apple filling in the baking dish.
  4. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are bubbling.
  5. Let cool slightly, then scoop generous portions topped with vanilla ice cream.
