Ingredients:

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 ½ cups warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar.
  2. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix mozzarella, Parmesan, butter, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread the filling evenly over the dough, then roll it tightly from one edge to the other.
  8. Use a pizza cutter or knife to slice the rolled dough into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls in the greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and cooked through.
  11. Enjoy warm, with optional herb butter or dipping sauces.
