- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (220g) packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups (360g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (90g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and pale.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually incorporate dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges look set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
