Ingredients:

Instructions:

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the softened butter and brown sugar together on medium speed until light and fluffy—this usually takes about three minutes.
  4. Beat in the molasses until fully incorporated followed by adding in one egg; mix until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture while mixing on low speed until just combined. Scrape down sides as necessary to ensure everything is well mixed.
