Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (240g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) sugar
  • 1 teaspoon (5g) salt
  • 2 teaspoons (8g) active dry yeast

  • 1 large (50g) egg
  • 3 tablespoons (42g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup (130g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon (1.5g) vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, activate yeast in warm milk and sugar for 5 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Combine flour and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add the activated yeast, egg, and melted butter to the flour mixture.
  4. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.

  6. Punch down the dough and roll it out onto a floured surface.
  7. Cut dough into 6 equal pieces; flatten each piece slightly.
  8. Place chocolate chips in the center of each piece, then fold over and seal the edges to form a ball.

  10. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown on top and cooked through.
  12. Cool slightly, dust with powdered sugar, and enjoy warm.
