Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups (315g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 ¼ teaspoons) instant yeast
  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ½ cup (120ml) whole milk, warmed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup (150g) mixed fresh fruits (e.g., strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, kiwifruit), chopped
  • ½ cup (120ml) fruit-flavored jelly (e.g., raspberry or apricot)
  • 1 cup (120g) powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk or water
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Cut in cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Combine warmed milk and egg; pour into dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead briefly until smooth, then cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  5. In a bowl, mix chopped fruits with jelly; set aside.
  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
  7. Cut slits along the long sides of the dough, leaving the center intact.
  8. Spread the fruit and jelly mixture along the center of the dough.
  9. Fold the slits over the filling in an alternating pattern to create a braided effect.
  10. Transfer the formed ring to the prepared baking sheet. Brush with an egg wash (optional) for a golden finish.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla until smooth. Adjust consistency as needed.
  13. Drizzle glaze over the cooled Danish ring. Serve warm or at room temperature.
