- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened

- 1 cup packed brown sugar (light or dark)

- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (or a mix of milk and dark chocolate)
Instructions:
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy—about 3–5 minutes.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and continue mixing until combined.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until evenly mixed.
- Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture using low speed on your mixer or by hand using a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
- Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula or wooden spoon until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop Cookie Dough: Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about 2 inches apart.
- Bake Cookies: Bake in preheated oven for about 10–12 minutes or until edges are slightly golden but centers still look soft.
- Cool Down: Remove from oven and allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for about 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
