Ingredients:
- 1 box (15.25 oz/432g) yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup (50g) chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 (20 oz/567g) can crushed pineapple, undrained
- 3 medium ripe bananas, sliced
- 1 (10 oz/283g) jar maraschino cherries, drained and halved
- 1 cup (2 sticks/226g) unsalted butter, melted
- Whipped cream (optional)
- Chocolate syrup (optional)
- Sprinkles (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Spread the undrained crushed pineapple evenly over the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Arrange the sliced bananas evenly over the pineapple layer.
- Sprinkle the halved maraschino cherries over the bananas.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry cake mix over the fruit layer.
- Sprinkle the chopped pecans or walnuts evenly over the cake mix.
- Pour the melted butter evenly over the entire surface of the cake mix and nut layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool slightly before serving. Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and sprinkles, if desired.
