Ingredients:
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
- Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat until it begins to foam.
- Whisk in the all-purpose flour quickly. Cook the mixture for 2 minutes until it turns a light golden brown and smells nutty.
- Slowly pour in 1/2 cup of the beef broth while whisking vigorously to form a smooth paste. Gradually add the remaining broth to ensure no lumps form.
- Increase the heat slightly to reach a gentle simmer. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and black pepper.
- Simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until the gravy thickens to your desired consistency. Season with salt to taste and serve immediately.
