Ingredients:
- 1 (15.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix (432g)
- 1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling (595g)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted (113g)
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (85g)
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (30g) (optional)
- 1 tsp almond extract (5ml) (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- Spread cherry pie filling evenly in the prepared pan.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry chocolate cake mix over the cherry pie filling.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the cake mix. Then sprinkle the nuts (if using).
- Pour melted butter evenly over the cake mix and chocolate chips. Make sure everything is covered evenly.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
