Ingredients:

  • 4 large blood oranges (about 1.5 pounds or 680 grams)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (30 ml), adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice (15 ml) (optional, for extra tartness)
  • Ice cubes, for serving (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash the blood oranges thoroughly under running water. Cut each orange in half.
  2. Use a citrus juicer to extract juice from each half. If desired, strain the juice through a fine mesh strainer to remove pulp and seeds.
  3. In a pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed blood orange juice with honey or agave syrup. Add fresh lemon juice if using. Stir well until the sweetener is fully dissolved.
  4. Serve over ice if desired, or chill in the fridge for 15–20 minutes before serving.
