Ingredients:
- 2 oz (60 ml) Carpano Antica vermouth
- 2 oz (60 ml) rye whiskey (or bourbon, if preferred)
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- Ice cubes
- 1 Maraschino cherry (or orange twist)
Instructions:
- Chill your cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water.
- In a mixing glass, add Carpano Antica vermouth, rye whiskey, and Angostura bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes.
- Use a bar spoon to stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
- Discard the ice water from the cocktail glass (if chilled) and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.
- Garnish with a Maraschino cherry or an expressive twist of orange peel.
