Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) Carpano Antica vermouth
  • 2 oz (60 ml) rye whiskey (or bourbon, if preferred)
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 Maraschino cherry (or orange twist)

Instructions:

  1. Chill your cocktail glass in the freezer or fill it with ice water.
  2. In a mixing glass, add Carpano Antica vermouth, rye whiskey, and Angostura bitters. Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes.
  3. Use a bar spoon to stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.
  4. Discard the ice water from the cocktail glass (if chilled) and strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.
  5. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry or an expressive twist of orange peel.
