Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup creamy or chunky peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line the baking pan with parchment paper, leaving enough overhang for easy removal.
  3. In a large bowl, combine granulated and brown sugar with melted butter.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla, whisking until smooth.
  5. Gradually fold in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
  6. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. In a separate bowl, mix together peanut butter, honey, salt, and powdered sugar (if using) until creamy.
  9. Let the brownies cool in the pan for at least 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once brownies are cooled, spread the churned peanut butter evenly on top.
  11. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before slicing into squares and serving.
