Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp (5 g) Coarse Salt (Kosher or Sea Salt), optional, for the rim
  • 1 Lime Wedge, for garnish and prep
  • 2 fl oz (60 ml) Tequila Blanco (100% Agave, high quality)
  • 1 fl oz (30 ml) Freshly Squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 fl oz (30 ml) Orange Liqueur (Preferably Cointreau or Grand Marnier)
  • Ice (For shaking)
  • Fresh Ice (For serving)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Glass and Rim: Run the lime wedge around the outer edge of the serving glass to moisten the rim. If desired, gently dip the moistened rim into the coarse salt to coat evenly. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice and set aside.
  2. Combine and Measure Ingredients: Pour the 2 fl oz (60 ml) of Tequila Blanco, 1 fl oz (30 ml) of freshly squeezed lime juice, and 1 fl oz (30 ml) of Orange Liqueur into the base of a cocktail shaker.
  3. Shake for Perfection: Fill the shaker two-thirds full with high-quality ice cubes. Seal the shaker firmly and shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds. The goal is rapid chilling and proper dilution; the outside of the shaker should be frosted.
  4. Strain and Serve: Place a strainer (and optional fine mesh strainer for clarity) over the mixing tin. Strain the chilled mixture directly into the prepared serving glass over the fresh ice. Garnish with the reserved lime wedge or a thin lime wheel, and serve immediately.
