Ingredients:
- 4 hoagie rolls (about 12 inches each; substitute with baguette if needed)
- 8 ounces sliced salami (approximately 225g)
- 8 ounces sliced ham (approximately 225g)
- 8 ounces sliced provolone cheese (approximately 225g)
- 1 cup shredded lettuce (about 40g)
- 1 medium tomato, sliced
- 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup olive oil (60ml) for dressing
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar (30ml) for dressing
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano for dressing
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder for dressing
- Salt and pepper to taste for dressing
Instructions:
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Slice hoagie rolls open lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
- On the bottom half of each roll, layer salami, ham, and provolone cheese. Top with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion.
- Generously drizzle the prepared dressing over the layered ingredients.
- Close the sandwich and gently press down, allowing the ingredients to meld.
- For best flavour, let the sandwich rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
- Cut each sandwich in half and serve.
