Ingredients:

  • 4 hoagie rolls (about 12 inches each; substitute with baguette if needed)
  • 8 ounces sliced salami (approximately 225g)
  • 8 ounces sliced ham (approximately 225g)
  • 8 ounces sliced provolone cheese (approximately 225g)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce (about 40g)
  • 1 medium tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil (60ml) for dressing
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar (30ml) for dressing
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano for dressing
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for dressing
  • Salt and pepper to taste for dressing

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  2. Slice hoagie rolls open lengthwise without cutting all the way through.
  3. On the bottom half of each roll, layer salami, ham, and provolone cheese. Top with shredded lettuce, tomato slices, and red onion.
  4. Generously drizzle the prepared dressing over the layered ingredients.
  5. Close the sandwich and gently press down, allowing the ingredients to meld.
  6. For best flavour, let the sandwich rest for about 10 minutes before slicing.
  7. Cut each sandwich in half and serve.
