  • 1 cup whole milk (240ml)
  • Salt and white pepper to taste

  • 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese (100g)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (50g)

Instructions:

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the flour to create a roux and cook until lightly golden, about 2 minutes.
  3. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
  4. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
  5. Season with salt, white pepper, and nutmeg.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat.
  7. Add the Gruyère and Parmesan cheese to the sauce.
  8. Stir until the cheese melts and combines smoothly.
  9. Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary.
