Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • A splash of milk (optional, for richness)

Instructions:

  1. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Cut in the butter until crumbly.
  3. Gradually add ice-cold water until dough comes together.
  4. Shape into a disc, wrap in plastic, and chill for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Roll out chilled dough on a floured surface and transfer to pie dish.
  7. Trim and crimp the edges.
  8. In a mixing bowl, whisk sugar and melted butter until smooth.
  9. Add eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition.
  10. Mix in flour, vanilla extract, and apple cider vinegar until combined.
  11. Pour filling into prepared crust and smooth the top.
  12. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the filling is set and edges are golden brown.
  13. Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
