Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) rye whiskey
  • 1 oz (30 ml) sweet vermouth
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Bénédictine
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • Ice cubes (for mixing)
  • Lemon twist or cherry (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Chill your serving glass by filling it with ice water or adding ice cubes for a few moments.
  2. In a mixing glass, add the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, Bénédictine, Angostura bitters, and Peychaud's bitters.
  3. Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes.
  4. Using a bar spoon, stir the mixture gently for about 30 seconds, until well chilled and diluted.
  5. Discard the ice water from the chilled glass. Strain the cocktail mixture into the glass.
  6. Add a lemon twist or cherry for decoration and aroma.
