Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs (680g) Ground Beef (80/20 blend recommended)
  • 4 oz (113g) Cream Cheese, softened
  • 4 slices Bacon, cooked and crumbled (about ½ cup)
  • 1/4 cup (30g) Shredded Cheddar Cheese (optional)
  • 1 tbsp (15ml) Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • 4 Burger Buns
  • Your favourite burger toppings

Instructions:

  1. Cook bacon until crispy, drain excess fat, and crumble. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, gently mix ground beef, softened cream cheese, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese (if using), Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Season with salt to taste. Don't overmix!
  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and gently form into patties. Be careful not to compact the meat too much, or the burgers will be tough.
  4. Preheat grill or skillet to medium-high heat. Cook patties for 5-7 minutes per side for medium-rare (internal temperature of 130-135°F/54-57°C), or longer for desired doneness. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the burgers are cooked through to your liking.
  5. While the burgers are cooking (or after), lightly toast the burger buns.
  6. Place the cooked burger patties on the toasted buns, add your favourite toppings, and serve immediately.
