Ingredients:
- 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) water, chilled
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (120 g) walnuts or almonds, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup (60 g) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
- 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup (75 g) powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add butter; blend until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add chilled water, mixing until a dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.
- In a bowl, mix chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon until well combined. Stir in honey until the mixture is sticky.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to a thin rectangle. Cut into 3-inch squares.
- Place a spoonful of the nut filling in the center of each square. Fold the corners over the filling and seal tightly. Brush each pastry with melted butter.
- Arrange pastries on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
