Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) gum arabic powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) warm water
  • 1 tsp (5 ml) lemon juice (optional, for added brightness)

Instructions:

  1. In a saucepan, combine the sugar, gum arabic powder, and warm water.
  2. Whisk vigorously until the sugar and gum arabic are fully dissolved.
  3. If using, stir in the lemon juice for an acidic balance.
  4. Pour the mixture into an airtight container. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to thicken.
  5. Store the syrup in the fridge for up to one month. Shake or stir before use if separation occurs.
