Ingredients:
- 1 can (14 oz / 396g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1.5 cups (355ml) ice cold water
- 1 package (3.4 oz / 96g) instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 cups (710ml) heavy whipping cream, chilled
- 1 box (11 oz / 312g) vanilla wafers
- 6 medium bananas (approx. 750g), sliced
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk and ice-cold water until fully combined. Sprinkle the instant vanilla pudding mix over the top and whisk vigorously for 2 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the pudding mixture and refrigerate for at least 4 hours until it is completely firm and set.
- In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy whipping cream on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold the set pudding mixture into the whipped cream using a spatula until the color is uniform and no streaks remain.
- Assemble layers in a 9x13 dish: start with a thin layer of cream, followed by vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and 1/3 of the cream. Repeat the layers, ending with a smooth layer of cream on top.
- Cover tightly and refrigerate for 4 to 8 hours to allow the wafers to soften into a cake-like texture.
- Garnish with crushed vanilla wafers just before serving for added texture.
