Ingredients:

  • 2 tubes (8 oz each) Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter, divided and melted
  • 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar (for topping)
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon (for topping)
  • 2 (8 oz) packages Full-Fat Cream Cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar (for filling)
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Large Egg, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup Liquid Honey (for drizzling)

Instructions:

  1. Set the Stage: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease the 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt Butter & Combine Topping: Melt 1/4 cup of the butter. In a small bowl, combine the 1/4 cup sugar and 1 Tbsp cinnamon for the topping mixture. Set aside.
  3. Lay the Base: Unroll the first tube of crescent roll dough carefully. Press the seams together to form a solid sheet. Lay this sheet evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish, pulling it up slightly around the edges.
  4. Butter the Base: Lightly brush the dough base with half of the reserved melted butter (1/8 cup).
  5. Create the Filling: Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened. Beat the cream cheese in a large bowl until it is light and completely smooth, scraping down the sides often.
  6. Mix Wet Ingredients: Gradually incorporate the 1 cup of sugar. Mix until just combined. Stir in the vanilla extract, then beat in the room-temperature egg until the mixture is uniform and smooth. Do not over-beat once the egg is added.
  7. Pour the Filling: Gently pour the cream cheese mixture evenly over the bottom layer of crescent roll dough in the baking dish.
  8. The Top Layer: Unroll the second tube of crescent roll dough, pressing the seams together to form a sheet. Carefully lay the dough sheet over the cream cheese filling.
  9. Apply Topping: Melt the remaining 1/4 cup butter. Brush the entire top surface of the dough with the melted butter. Generously sprinkle the reserved cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the top.
  10. Bake and Cool: Bake for 30–35 minutes at 350°F (175°C), or until the edges are deep golden brown and the center is set. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely on a wire rack for about one hour.
  11. Chill and Serve: Cover the dish loosely and transfer to the refrigerator to chill for a minimum of 2 hours. Once chilled, slice into squares and generously drizzle with liquid honey just before serving.
