Ingredients:

  • 1 large loaf (16 oz / 450g) Soft French Bread
  • 4 tbsp (56g) Unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Freshly chopped parsley
  • 1 cup (240ml) Marinara sauce
  • 2.5 cups (280g) Low-moisture, part-skim mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 cup (50g) Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 oz (113g) Sliced pepperoni
  • 0.5 tsp Dried oregano
  • 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C. Use a serrated knife to slice the French bread in half lengthwise and then crosswise to create four equal portions. Gently press down on the crumb of the bread to create a wider, flatter surface for toppings.
  2. In a small bowl, combine softened butter and minced garlic, and fresh parsley. Brush the mixture generously over the cut sides of the bread. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes until the edges are golden and the surface is firm to create a moisture barrier.
  3. Spread an even layer of marinara sauce over the pre-toasted bread. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, followed by a generous layer of mozzarella. Add pepperoni slices and season with dried oregano and red pepper flakes.
  4. Return the pizzas to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly browned.
