Ingredients:
- 4 cups (950ml) Water, filtered preferred
- 2 inches (5cm) Fresh Ginger, peeled and thinly sliced (about 1/4 cup sliced)
- 1/2 Lemon (or Lime), juiced (about 2 tablespoons juice)
- 1-2 tablespoons Honey (or Maple Syrup), to taste
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon Ground Turmeric
- Optional: Pinch of Black Pepper
Instructions:
- Peel and thinly slice the ginger.
- Add water and sliced ginger to a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes to allow the ginger to infuse into the water. Simmer longer for a stronger ginger flavour.
- Remove from heat. Stir in lemon (or lime) juice, honey (or maple syrup), turmeric (if using), and black pepper (if using).
- Strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer into mugs. Discard the ginger slices. Adjust sweetness to taste. Enjoy this 'ginger tea recipe'!
