Ingredients:

  • 4 cups (950ml) Water, filtered preferred
  • 2 inches (5cm) Fresh Ginger, peeled and thinly sliced (about 1/4 cup sliced)
  • 1/2 Lemon (or Lime), juiced (about 2 tablespoons juice)
  • 1-2 tablespoons Honey (or Maple Syrup), to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon Ground Turmeric
  • Optional: Pinch of Black Pepper

Instructions:

  1. Peel and thinly slice the ginger.
  2. Add water and sliced ginger to a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10-15 minutes to allow the ginger to infuse into the water. Simmer longer for a stronger ginger flavour.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in lemon (or lime) juice, honey (or maple syrup), turmeric (if using), and black pepper (if using).
  5. Strain the tea through a fine-mesh strainer into mugs. Discard the ginger slices. Adjust sweetness to taste. Enjoy this 'ginger tea recipe'!
