Ingredients:

  • 1.5 lbs Large Shrimp (16-20 count), peeled and deveined
  • 1 tbsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Dried Thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Cracked Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Avocado Oil
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley, chopped
  • 1 Lemon, halved

Instructions:

  1. Pat the shrimp with paper towels until they are bone-dry to prevent steaming and ensure a proper sear.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk the avocado oil together with the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, thyme, cayenne, salt, and pepper.
  3. Toss the dry shrimp in the oil and spice mixture until every shrimp is thoroughly coated.
  4. Heat a large cast iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat until hot.
  5. Place the shrimp in the pan in a single layer. Sear for 2 minutes per side until the edges are crispy and the centers are opaque.
  6. In the final 30 seconds of cooking, add the minced garlic and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to deglaze the pan and coat the shrimp.
  7. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
