Ingredients:

  • 6 oz (177ml) Freshly Brewed Hot Coffee
  • 1-2 Tablespoons (15-30ml) Simple Syrup (or to taste)
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar (Simple Syrup Ingredient)
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) water (Simple Syrup Ingredient)
  • 4-6 oz (120-180ml) Cold Milk or Cream
  • 1 Cup (approx. 150g) Ice Cubes

Instructions:

  1. Brew a strong batch of hot coffee using your preferred method (coffee maker, French press, pour-over, etc.).
  2. Pour the hot coffee into a heat-safe pitcher or jar. Let it cool at room temperature for about 10 minutes, or create an ice bath by placing the pitcher in a larger bowl filled with ice water, stirring occasionally to speed up the cooling process.
  3. Stir in simple syrup to taste while the coffee is still warm. (Sugar dissolves easier in warm liquids.)
  4. Combine sugar and water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is completely dissolved. Let cool completely before using. Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  5. Fill your serving glass with ice cubes.
  6. Pour the cooled coffee over the ice. Top with cold milk or cream (to your liking). Stir gently to combine. Enjoy immediately!
