Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup (50g) Vegetable Oil
- 1/2 cup (100g) Popcorn Kernels
- 1/4 cup (50g) Granulated Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) Salt
Instructions:
- Add oil to a large, heavy-bottomed pot and place over medium-high heat.
- Add 2-3 popcorn kernels to the pot. When they pop, the oil is ready. Remove the popped kernels.
- Add the remaining popcorn kernels, sugar, and salt to the pot.
- Cover the pot tightly and shake vigorously to distribute the sugar and salt.
- Continue cooking, shaking the pot occasionally, until the popping slows down (2-3 seconds between pops).
- Remove the pot from the heat immediately.
- Carefully pour the kettle corn into a large bowl to cool and prevent burning. Taste the kettle corn and add more salt if desired. This kettle corn recipe is best served fresh.
