Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (240 ml) filtered water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) ice cubes
  • 1/2 cup (75g) chopped kale
  • 1/2 cup (75g) spinach
  • 1/2 medium orange, peeled and segmented
  • 1/4 medium lemon, peeled (remove seeds)
  • 1/4 inch (5g) piece of fresh ginger, peeled
  • 1/4 cup (40g) frozen mango chunks
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) chia seeds
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) raw honey or maple syrup (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and chop all fruits and vegetables as specified in the ingredient list.
  2. Add the water, ice, kale, spinach, orange, lemon, ginger, and frozen mango to the blender.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until smooth, about 30-60 seconds. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash more water until desired consistency is reached.
  4. Stir in the chia seeds and honey (or maple syrup) if using.
  5. Taste and add more sweetener or lemon juice as needed to adjust the flavour to your liking.
  6. Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
