Ingredients:

  • 2 packages (3.4 oz each) Instant Vanilla Pudding mix
  • 3 cups whole milk, cold
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 11 oz vanilla wafers
  • 6 large bananas, sliced into 1/4 inch rounds

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the cold milk and instant vanilla pudding mix for 2 minutes until thickened. Place in the refrigerator to set.
  2. In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and sweetened condensed milk using an electric mixer until completely smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gently fold the cream cheese mixture into the chilled pudding until the mixture is uniform and pale yellow.
  4. In a chilled bowl, beat the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold half of the whipped cream into the pudding mixture to lighten the texture. Reserve the remaining half for the top layer.
  6. Arrange a single layer of vanilla wafers at the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish or trifle bowl. Top with a layer of sliced bananas.
  7. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the bananas. Repeat the layers: wafers, bananas, and the remaining pudding.
  8. Spread the reserved whipped cream over the top and garnish with crushed wafer crumbs.
  9. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to allow the wafers to soften into a cake-like consistency.
