Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (150 g) mixed berries (fresh or frozen) - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
  • 1/4 cup (30 g) raw or roasted unsalted almonds (or mixed nuts)
  • 1 medium ripe banana (about 120 g), peeled
  • 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) natural Greek yogurt or dairy-free alternative (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or maple syrup (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon (10 g) chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
  • A few ice cubes (if using fresh berries and prefer chilled)

Instructions:

  1. Rinse mixed berries under cold water if using fresh. Peel the banana and break into chunks. Measure nuts and other ingredients.
  2. Add almonds or chosen nuts to the blender. Pulse for 10-15 seconds until roughly chopped.
  3. Add banana chunks, mixed berries, almond milk, Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, chia seeds if using, and vanilla extract.
  4. Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. Pause and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  5. If too thick, add a splash more almond milk. Taste and add more sweetener if desired. Add ice cubes for a colder drink and blend again if needed.
  6. Pour into glasses or jars and serve immediately for best freshness and texture.
