Ingredients:
- 1 cup (150 g) mixed berries (fresh or frozen) - strawberries, blueberries, raspberries
- 1/4 cup (30 g) raw or roasted unsalted almonds (or mixed nuts)
- 1 medium ripe banana (about 120 g), peeled
- 1 cup (240 ml) unsweetened almond milk (or any plant-based milk)
- 2 tablespoons (30 g) natural Greek yogurt or dairy-free alternative (optional)
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 1 tablespoon (10 g) chia seeds or flaxseeds (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract (optional)
- A few ice cubes (if using fresh berries and prefer chilled)
Instructions:
- Rinse mixed berries under cold water if using fresh. Peel the banana and break into chunks. Measure nuts and other ingredients.
- Add almonds or chosen nuts to the blender. Pulse for 10-15 seconds until roughly chopped.
- Add banana chunks, mixed berries, almond milk, Greek yogurt, honey or maple syrup, chia seeds if using, and vanilla extract.
- Blend on high speed until smooth and creamy. Pause and scrape down the sides if necessary.
- If too thick, add a splash more almond milk. Taste and add more sweetener if desired. Add ice cubes for a colder drink and blend again if needed.
- Pour into glasses or jars and serve immediately for best freshness and texture.
