Ingredients:

  • 1 package (14.3 oz/405g) Oreo cookies (double-stuffed recommended)
  • 1/2 cup (115g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable shortening (like Crisco)
  • 36 candy corn pieces
  • 24 candy eyes
  • 12 orange candy-coated chocolate pieces (like M&M's)
  • Red candy-coated chocolate pieces (like M&M's) or red frosting

Instructions:

  1. Gently melt the chocolate chips and shortening in a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
  2. Dab a small amount of melted chocolate onto the rounded end of each candy corn piece and attach them around the top half of an Oreo cookie to create the turkey's feathers.
  3. Use a small dab of melted chocolate to attach the candy eyes and orange M&M beak to the front of the Oreo.
  4. Dab a tiny amount of red M&M or frosting just below the beak for the waddle.
  5. Place the assembled oreo turkey cookies on parchment paper and let the chocolate set completely (about 15-20 minutes).
