Ingredients:

  • 2 (15-ounce) cans sliced peaches, in heavy syrup, undrained
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Pour the undrained canned peaches into the baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and almond extract (if using).
  3. Evenly distribute the dry cake mix over the peaches, covering them completely.
  4. Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Try to cover all of the dry mix.
  5. Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the top of the buttered cake mix (optional).
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly. A toothpick inserted into the topping should come out clean.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
