Ingredients:
- 2 (15-ounce) cans sliced peaches, in heavy syrup, undrained
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 1 (15.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, melted
- ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Pour the undrained canned peaches into the baking dish. Sprinkle with cinnamon and almond extract (if using).
- Evenly distribute the dry cake mix over the peaches, covering them completely.
- Pour the melted butter evenly over the cake mix. Try to cover all of the dry mix.
- Sprinkle chopped pecans or walnuts over the top of the buttered cake mix (optional).
- Bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly. A toothpick inserted into the topping should come out clean.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
