Ingredients:
- 1 cup (185g) long-grain white rice
- 2 cups (480ml) water
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 1 tbsp (14g) unsalted butter
Instructions:
- Place the rice in a fine-mesh strainer and run cold water over it. Shake gently until the water running through the bottom is clear.
- Add the rinsed rice, water, salt, and butter into the saucepan.
- Turn the heat to medium-high and bring the water to a rolling boil without a lid.
- As soon as it boils, stir once, cover with the lid tightly, and immediately reduce heat to the lowest possible setting.
- Simmer for 15 minutes. Do not lift the lid during this time.
- Remove the pan from the heat and let it sit, covered, for 5 minutes.
- Remove the lid and use a fork to gently lift and separate the grains.
