Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (140g) raw almonds, whole, slivered, or sliced
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5ml) neutral oil (like canola, vegetable, or grapeseed), optional
  • Pinch of salt, optional

Instructions:

  1. Choose Your Method: Decide whether you'll be toasting in the oven, on the stovetop, or in the microwave.
  2. Oven Method: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Toss almonds (if using) with oil and sprinkle with salt. Spread almonds in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 5-10 minutes, checking frequently and stirring or shaking the pan halfway through, until golden brown and fragrant. Remove from oven and let cool completely on the baking sheet.
  3. Stovetop Method: Place almonds (if using) with oil and sprinkle with salt in a dry skillet over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown and fragrant, about 3-7 minutes. Immediately transfer almonds to a plate to cool.
  4. Microwave Method: Spread almonds (if using) with oil and sprinkle with salt in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave on high in 1-minute intervals, stirring between each interval, until golden brown and fragrant, about 2-4 minutes total. Let cool completely on the plate.
  5. Cool and Store: Once cooled, store toasted almonds in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
