Ingredients:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer or a whisk to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture using a spatula or wooden spoon; mix until just blended—do not over-mix!
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
- Bake for approximately twelve–fifteen minutes or until golden around the edges but still soft in center.
- Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for about five minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
