Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer or a whisk to cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 3–5 minutes).
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture using a spatula or wooden spoon; mix until just blended—do not over-mix!
  6. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  8. Bake for approximately twelve–fifteen minutes or until golden around the edges but still soft in center.
  9. Remove from oven and let cool on baking sheets for about five minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
