Ingredients:

  • 20 cherry tomatoes
  • 20 fresh basil leaves
  • 20 mini mozzarella balls (bocconcini)
  • Balsamic glaze for drizzling (about 2 tablespoons)
  • Extra virgin olive oil for drizzling (optional, about 1 tablespoon)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Begin by rinsing the cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves under cold water. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel.
  2. (Optional) Take one plastic toothpick and start assembling your mini caprese skewer. First, thread on one cherry tomato, followed by a basil leaf, then a mozzarella ball. Repeat this process until you have added two of each ingredient onto the toothpick.
  3. Continue this process until all ingredients are used up, making sure each skewer has two cherry tomatoes, two basil leaves, and two mozzarella balls.
  4. Once all skewers are assembled, arrange them neatly on a serving platter. Lightly drizzle with balsamic glaze and extra virgin olive oil if using.
  5. Sprinkle salt and pepper over the arranged skewers according to your taste preference.
  6. These mini caprese skewers can be served immediately or chilled in the fridge for up to an hour before serving.
