Ingredients:
- 4 packages (0.3 oz/8.5g each) flavored gelatin powder (assorted colors - e.g., red/cherry, orange, yellow/lemon, green/lime, blue/berry)
- 4 cups (946 ml) boiling water
- 1 cup (237 ml) cold water
- 1 package (0.25 oz/7g) unflavored gelatin powder
- 1/2 cup (118 ml) cold water
- 1 can (14 oz/397g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 1/2 cups (355 ml) evaporated milk
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
Instructions:
- Dissolve each flavor of gelatin separately in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1/4 cup cold water to each. Pour into separate 8-inch square baking dishes.
- Refrigerate the colored gelatin for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- Soften unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water for 5 minutes.
- Gently warm the gelatin mixture in the microwave for 30 seconds, until the gelatin is dissolved. Stir until smooth.
- In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk in the dissolved gelatin mixture.
- Once the colored gelatin is firm, cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
- Arrange the colored gelatin cubes randomly in the 9x13 inch baking dish.
- Gently pour the white gelatin mixture over the colored gelatin cubes, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until firm.
- Cut into squares and serve cold.
