Ingredients:

  • 4 packages (0.3 oz/8.5g each) flavored gelatin powder (assorted colors - e.g., red/cherry, orange, yellow/lemon, green/lime, blue/berry)
  • 4 cups (946 ml) boiling water
  • 1 cup (237 ml) cold water
  • 1 package (0.25 oz/7g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1/2 cup (118 ml) cold water
  • 1 can (14 oz/397g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 1/2 cups (355 ml) evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve each flavor of gelatin separately in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until completely dissolved. Add 1/4 cup cold water to each. Pour into separate 8-inch square baking dishes.
  2. Refrigerate the colored gelatin for at least 2 hours, or until firm.
  3. Soften unflavored gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water for 5 minutes.
  4. Gently warm the gelatin mixture in the microwave for 30 seconds, until the gelatin is dissolved. Stir until smooth.
  5. In a large bowl, combine sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk in the dissolved gelatin mixture.
  6. Once the colored gelatin is firm, cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
  7. Arrange the colored gelatin cubes randomly in the 9x13 inch baking dish.
  8. Gently pour the white gelatin mixture over the colored gelatin cubes, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, until firm.
  10. Cut into squares and serve cold.
