Ingredients:

  • 24 slices Thinly sliced salami (about 4-5 oz / 115-140g)
  • 8 oz (225g) Cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Fresh chives (or green onions), finely chopped
  • ½ tsp Garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Dill pickles, finely chopped (Optional)
  • 2 tbsp Red bell pepper, finely chopped (Optional)
  • 1 tsp Horseradish sauce (for a kick!)(Optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, mash the softened cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  2. Stir in the chopped chives (or green onions), garlic powder, and black pepper. If using, add the dill pickles, red bell pepper, and horseradish sauce.
  3. Taste the cream cheese mixture and adjust seasoning as needed. A pinch of salt might be nice!
  4. Lay out the salami slices on a clean surface.
  5. Spread a thin, even layer of the cream cheese mixture onto each salami slice.
  6. Roll each salami slice tightly from one end to the other. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
  7. Wrap the assembled rolls tightly in plastic wrap.
  8. Place the wrapped rolls in the refrigerator and chill for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld and the rolls to firm up.
  9. Just before serving, use a sharp knife to slice each roll into bite-sized rounds. Salami cream cheese roll ups are ready to be served.
