- 2 medium apples, diced (about 2 cups)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup (100 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or unsalted butter
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Prepare Ingredients: Dice apples, onion, and mince garlic.
- Cook Sausage: Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat. Add sausage, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add Aromatics: Stir in onions and garlic, cooking until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Incorporate Apples & Spices: Add diced apples, thyme, cinnamon, and pepper. Cook until apples start to soften, about 5 minutes.
- Combine & Melt: Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the mixture. Cover skillet to melt cheese, about 2-3 minutes.
- Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
