  • 2 medium apples, diced (about 2 cups)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup (100 g) sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or unsalted butter
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Ingredients: Dice apples, onion, and mince garlic.
  2. Cook Sausage: Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat. Add sausage, breaking it up with a spoon. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add Aromatics: Stir in onions and garlic, cooking until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Incorporate Apples & Spices: Add diced apples, thyme, cinnamon, and pepper. Cook until apples start to soften, about 5 minutes.
  5. Combine & Melt: Sprinkle shredded cheddar over the mixture. Cover skillet to melt cheese, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
