Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) button mushrooms, cleaned and halved or quartered
- 2 tablespoons (30ml) olive oil
- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or ½ teaspoon dried thyme)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Optional: Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Clean the button mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them into halves or quarters, depending on their size.
- In a large sauté pan, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Carefully add the mushrooms to the pan in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding for even cooking.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes, without stirring too much, until the mushrooms are golden brown.
- Stir in the minced garlic and thyme; cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant and lightly golden.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Toss to combine.
- Transfer to a serving dish, garnishing with fresh parsley if desired.
