Ingredients:
- 4 cups (950ml) whole milk (or full-fat coconut milk for dairy-free)
- 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream (or full-fat coconut cream for dairy-free)
- 6 ounces (170g) bittersweet chocolate, chopped (60-70% cacao)
- 2 ounces (57g) milk chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons (15g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
Instructions:
- Add milk, cream, chopped chocolate, sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, chili powder, nutmeg, salt, vanilla extract, and cayenne pepper (if using) to the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or on high for 1-1.5 hours, stirring occasionally, until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is heated through.
- Whisk vigorously to ensure everything is fully combined and smooth. Ladle into mugs and serve with your favourite toppings.
