  • 1 teaspoon (5 g) cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon (2 g) ground cumin

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients: brown sugar, kosher salt, smoked paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and ground cumin.
  2. Use a whisk or fork to mix until all ingredients are evenly distributed and clumpy sugar is broken up.
  3. Taste the rub and adjust pepper or cayenne for heat preference.
  4. Transfer the rub into an airtight container and store in a cool, dry place. Allow to rest for at least 30 minutes before using.
