Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons (30 ml) apple butter
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) brown sugar, packed
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- ⅛ teaspoon ground cloves
- Pinch of salt
- 2 ounces (60 ml) dark rum
- 6 ounces (180 ml) boiling water
Instructions:
- In a small saucepan, combine softened butter, apple butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- Heat the mixture over low heat, stirring constantly until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth. Do not boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the dark rum.
- Pour the mixture into a mug. Top with boiling water and stir well to combine.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick or a thin slice of apple (optional).
