Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks/226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups (281g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (142g) strawberry jam
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and salt until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing on low speed until just combined. Be careful not to overmix!
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  6. Roll the chilled dough into 1-inch balls. Place on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
  7. Use your thumb or the back of a small spoon to make a small indentation in the center of each cookie.
  8. Spoon a small amount of strawberry jam into each indentation.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  10. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving these strawberry kiss cookies.
