Ingredients:

  • 2 cups (475ml) Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 cup (200g) Granulated Sugar
  • 1 cup (240ml) Whole Milk (or 2% milk)
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Zest (finely grated)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract (optional)
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Juice the oranges and lemons, making sure to remove any seeds or pulp.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, orange zest, vanilla extract (if using), and salt (if using) until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  3. Gently whisk in the milk until everything is well combined.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and chill the mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  5. Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer's instructions for freezing, or pour the chilled mixture into a freezer-safe container and freeze for at least 4-6 hours, breaking up ice crystals every hour.
