Ingredients:

  • 2 (20-ounce) cans sour cherries in water or juice, undrained
  • 1 (15.25-ounce) box yellow cake mix (not pudding mix)
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the undrained sour cherries evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the cherries. Make sure to get good coverage!
  4. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix.
  5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Let cool slightly before serving. Optional: Dust with powdered sugar.
