Ingredients:

  • 2 oz (60 ml) Gin (London Dry or a modern floral gin)
  • 1 oz (30 ml) Fresh Lemon Juice
  • ¾ oz (22.5 ml) Elderflower Liqueur (St. Germain or similar)
  • ½ oz (15 ml) Crème de Mûre (Blackberry Liqueur)
  • 4-5 Fresh Blackberries
  • Ice cubes
  • Optional: Blackberry or lemon slice for garnish

Instructions:

  1. In the bottom of a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the fresh blackberries to release their juices.
  2. Add the gin, lemon juice, and elderflower liqueur to the shaker.
  3. Fill the shaker with ice.
  4. Close the shaker tightly and shake well for 15-20 seconds, until thoroughly chilled.
  5. Double strain (using a Hawthorne strainer and a fine-mesh sieve) into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  6. Gently drizzle the crème de mûre over the top of the drink, allowing it to sink slightly.
  7. Garnish with a fresh blackberry or a lemon slice, if desired.
